In order to prevent trade in illegally harvested forest, an EU legislation was introduced in 2013, the so-called EU Timber Regulation (EU Timber Regulation, EUTR). In more detail, this means that every company that buys wood products from outside the EU is responsible for guaranteeing their legal origin.
This is done by performing an acquisition review process that confirms the legality of the products. In this process, an analysis of fiber types is important to verify the content and origin of the wood. MoRe Research can be helpful here, with a light microscope and deep fiber knowledge we can identify the fiber types.
