The PulpEye analyser, used by many pulp mills in Sweden as well as in other countries to analyse a number of pulp properties online, is also used by MoRe in many customer projects. Actually, the original development of the PulpEye unit was done at MoRe’s premises more than a decade ago.
We use PulpEye for analyses of fibre properties in development projects run together with customers as well as of their pulps in cooperation with their pulp customers. Properties which are measured with PulpEye are fibre length, fibre curl, fibre coarseness and fibre width as well as fines, shives and kinks.
MoRe runs many projects with a range of different raw materials, which puts high demands on the fibre analyser. We can, as an example, after a mild delignification of the material analyse the result of wood raw materials as well of annual crops. We do of course also use PulpEye in customer projects to analyse pulp samples taken after each process step in the mills as well as corresponding pulps produced in our different pilot equipment.
It is also possible to use microscopy to characterize fibres.
